The Danube Summer School (DSS) is a short term study program, organised by the European Danube Academy in cooperation with universities and institutions from the Danube Region. Participants from different countries learn and discuss about facts, challenges and projects of the Region. Since its start in 2014, the DSS has become a well-established and respected platform of exchange and debate among political decision makers, academics and students. Results and thoughts have been documented in several publications in the Danube Book Series of the European Danube Academy. Each Danube Summer School is also a project development and ideation workshop. Small working groups with participants of different backgrounds develop feasible projects that help to foster cooperation and support the unfolding of the region’s economic potential. Some of the project have been successfully implemented, such as the Initiative Danube Area Research Centre (DAReC) that has ever since become a solid partner of the European Danube Academy. [more…]

The Danube Summer School 2016

2016This year’s summer school will be the third Danube Summer School in Ulm/Neu Ulm, Germany. We are currently laying out the program. Similar to last year will be the venues (Vöhlin Castle, City Hall Ulm) and the structure and the time (late September, beginning of October). We will however include more international lecturers and high level political decision makers from the Danube Region. It will be open for applicants from all over the Danube Region [more…].

The European Danube Academy

EDA logoThe European Danube Academy is an institute that aims to promote Danube region wide exchange in politics, academia, culture and business. It has been founded in 2008 in Ulm and since then it has become one of the major Danube platforms for the presentation of ideas, opinions and views from all over the Danube region.
